Kareena Kapoor is on a high. She is getting one film offer every day and receives more than 300 SMSes daily. The actress says her career has started looking up ever since Saif Ali Khan entered her life.
“Saif is extremely loving and supportive. In fact, the best phase of my career started when Saif came into my life. Now he’s enjoying this phase in my life along with me. That makes this phase even more special,”Kareena told IANS.
Many people gave her relationship with Saif no more than six months. Reacting to that, Kareena said: “There’s absolutely no room for such negativity in my life. I only have place for people who are positive and who make me happy by sharing in my happiness.
“This is the best phase in my life. And I feel I’m in a place where I’ve never been before.
Commenting upon her career, she said: “I’m a lucky girl. I’m being offered one film every day. Normally a Bollywood actress does about 40 days’ work. My directors are taking about 100 days with me. I’ve already given Karan (Johar) 100 days for his film directed by Rensil D’Silva.”
Excerpts from the interview:
Q: What are you doing in this guy-oriented cast of Rajkumar Hirani’s “Three Idiots”?
A: I’ve an effective role. And no power on this earth would’ve made me miss the chance of working with Hirani. I’m a lucky girl. I’m being offered one film every day. I don’t have time to read scripts. I’ll do so in March 2009 after I finish my current lot of films which includes Karan Johar’s film with Saif. Normally a Bollywood actress does about 40 days’ work. My directors are taking about 100 days with me. I’ve already given Karan 100 days for his film directed by Rensil D’Silva.
Q: Looking back, has it been a turbulent year for you?
A: I wouldn’t call it turbulent. It was an exciting phase in my life when so many things rushed down on me at the same time. The last year was a turning-point in my life. But the end result is happy. Both, professionally and emotionally, I think I’ve come out a winner. I’ve tried to be as dignified about my personal life as possible. As for my work, god has been kind.
Q: Do you think you’re lucky?
A: It’s not just luck. I’ve worked really hard to get here. It’s my perseverance that has got me where I am. And I owe my success to no one else but myself.
Q: Perseverance? You’ve begun to sound like Saif.
A: Yes, my vocabulary has increased. He makes me memorise some pages of the Oxford dictionary every day, ha ha. That’s a joke. But seriously, he does speak very well. So I’m trying to catch up.
Q: Who’s your favourite Khan?
A: Ah-ha. Do I have to spell it out?
Q: Is there anything you want?
A: I have it all. For me, the journey as an actress has just begun. And I’m not going to shift focus from it for four-five years.
Q: No marriage for four-five years?
A: I know, I definitely want to. But not at least for three years. The work I’m doing is giving me so much satisfaction. No 28-year-old can ask for more.
Q: People gave your relationship with Saif no more than six months?
A: There’s absolutely no room for such negativity in my life. I only have place for people who are positive and who make me happy by sharing in my happiness. This is the best phase in my life. And I feel I’m in a place where I’ve never been before. As an actress I feel everyone and that includes me, expects things from me that are not generally expected from Bollywood actresses except maybe Kajol. Or my sister Karisma.
Q: Do you get enough time with Saif?
A: He’s extremely loving and supportive. He knows how long it’s taken me to get the work that I’m getting now. In fact, the best phase of my career started when Saif came into my life. Now he’s enjoying this phase in my life along with me. That makes this phase even more special. The only thing I miss is time with my family and Saif. When I finish this schedule I head straight to Venice for Sajid Nadiadwala’s “Kambakht Ishq{rsquo}{rsquo}.
Q: Are you and Saif doing a lot of endorsements together?
A: We’re offered a lot of endorsements. But we are not doing any except a shampoo brand (Head & Shoulders). But we’ll soon be signing on for endorsements. And we’re doing another film for Asthvinayak. That starts in April 2009. We want it to be a fast and furious action film. Something larger-than-life. Saif is working very closely with the producers. He’s trying to lock in on the script and director.
Q: You’ve changed so much in appearance and behaviour.
A: Ha, that’s what you think. I’m still the same. It’s just that I’m so busy. I’ve been working constantly. On top of that my house is being done up. There’re a dozen things demanding my attention. I get 300 SMSes a day. I can’t answer them personally.

Sexy Actress Kareena skips Saif’s concert for Shah Rukh
Kareena Kapoor proved that her heart does not rule her head at all times. She chose to fulfil her professional commitment to Shah Rukh Khan over attending beau Saif’s rock concert.
Her long-standing differences with Shah Rukh Khan which go back to the time when she refused to do Karan Johar’s “Kal Ho Na Ho” for monetary reasons, have finally dissolved.
On Friday, Kareena danced for a television show being filmed for Children’s Day, being produced for Star Plus by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies’ company.
The offer put her in a dilemma. It clashed with Saif Ali Khan’s rock concert with the band Parirkrama for charity. Kareena opted for Shah Rukh’s show.
Says the actress: “I had no choice. Shah Rukh’s show was a commitment I made much earlier. I’ve to dance and I’ll be getting an award for my popularity with children. Very sadly I’ll have to skip Saif’s concert. But I know he’ll understand.”
But Saif has said he likes Kareena at his concerts for inspiration.
“I know he said that. But what to do? One has to be professional. Can’t let the heart rule the head all the time. I’ll make it up to Saif,” said the actress.

Actress Katrina Kaif will work with Sallu if good script
Actress Katrina Kaif today refuted reports that she had decided to end professional relations with beau Salman Khan and said that a good script was the only pre-condition for her to sign a film.
"I have never said that I will not work with Salman Khan after Yuvraj. I always go by the script. I do not know how such speculations float around. If our dates work out, we will be featuring in Sohail Khan's next film," Katrina, who replaced Aishwarya Rai as the ambassador of Nakshtra jewellery brand told reporters here.
On reports that she was no longer part of Shah Rukh Khan's "temptations" world tour after the much-hyped SRK-Salman fracas at her birthday party, Katrina said she enjoyed being on stage and dancing."If dates permit, I will surely be part of the show," she said.
Katrina informed that she is leaving for the U.S to shoot for Kabir Khan's film being produced by Yash Raj films, this week.The actress is being paired opposite John Abraham in this untitled film. "This will be my longest outdoor schedule ever," she said.
She said she was looking forward to the release of Singh is Kinng this week. "It is an entertaining film and we have worked very hard on it," she said.Katrina said Akshay was a wonderful co-star to work with.
"He has a good sense of script, commercial cinema and audience tastes. He is unbiased towards co-stars. Namastey London was a woman centric film. But Akshay was also its main strength. Besides, we have fun matching each other's energy in dancing," she said.
Responding to a question about replacing Aishwarya Rai as Nakshatra brand ambassador, Katrina said it would be wrong to say that she has replaced anybody.
"The brand has grown with Aishwarya in the last eight years. The Geetanjali group knows what they are doing. I hope to continue the good work and do them proud," she said.
"I am not taking over anything from anyone. I am an individual on my own. There is room for lot of people in the film and advertising industry," she said.
When asked for her reaction on Abhishek Bachchan's comments that Aishwarya had left the "Nakshatra" brand on her own and Katrina was signed because the Geetanjali group had no one else, Katrina replied, "I know you are all excited to create controversies. But, I will not say anything."
To a question on whether she and Akshay Kumar will appear on Salman Khan's television show Dus Ka Dum to promote Singh is Kinng, Katrina said she would love to be part of the show.
"The modalities are being discussed. Besides, Akshay is not in India. He will be arriving only later this week," she said.

I don’t know when last you saw her, but I did on Sunday, from spitting distance in her vanity van at Mehboob Studios. And never mind size zero, Kareena Kapoor is a dreamboat of a woman, all smouldering sexuality, honest emotions and sensuous curves. Besides, of course, being God’s gift to Saif Ali Khan. I hope he knows this, because she is crazy about him. “He’s my best friend,” she told me. “Being lovers is easy, but remaining friends is tough.” That kind of honesty is hard to come by anywhere; in Bollywood — don’t ask! But I did. What was it that she looked for in her man? Was it sex? Companionship? Or did she require a man in her life 24/7 and so moved from one relationship to another? Kareena pouted, “Friendship first, and then love. Saif and I were friends right through Tashan. After that, we became lovers. Jab We Met was before I met Saif. I thought, if he can be my best friend, and be such a wonderful father to his kids, the rest will just follow.” But, given his past, wasn’t it true that while he might be a great lover, he was lousy as a husband? “There’s no such thing as any man being perfect husband material,” she shot back, “the most stable guys make awful husbands. In Saif’s case, I followed my heart and instinct; that always make me happy, especially when I sleep at night. When you follow only your head, you end up frustrated.”
She has, I must admit, the courage of her convictions. How many actresses at the top of their careers have been honest about their relationships to their family, fans, the media? None that I can think of. Did she not fear that sometimes people might tend to forget she is Bollywood’s No 1 actress and think of her only as the woman in Saif’s life? “By being honest and coming clean, I can hold my head high,” Kareena replied. Not a trace of irritation at the bluntness of my questions. I pushed further. If he was unwilling to commit to marriage, would she care to have a child out of wedlock with Saif ? A love child? “No,” she said firmly, “I’m open about my relationship, but traditional in my values. Saif thinks I’m the most conservative and traditional woman he has known. I tell him, if you have a problem with that, then go be with someone else!” Was there any other man who turned her on more? “Apart from Saif, nobody else… But Leo (di Caprio), oh God, he’s unnaturally good looking, he’s hot and also intelligent. I’d enjoy his company,” she said brightly. Enough to if the opportunity came up, have a fling with him? “I’m traditional,” she reminded me, “I won’t have a fling.”
But this is not all about Saif only, and the love life between Kareena and him, we talked films as well. She’s got a fascinating fistful at the moment. There’s Kambakth Ishq with Akshay, Idiot with Aamir, Mr Aur Mrs Khanna with Salman, Golmal Returns with Ajay, and she’s doing Karan Johar’s next film (“It’s untitled and it’s based on terrorism,” she revealed) with Saif. “I’ve chosen the right roles in all of them,” she said with a look of smug satisfaction. Who was her favourite costar? Kareena hummed and hawed a bit, then came up with, “Akshay, it’s so strange, I’ve done more films with him than Saif. Akshay and I look nice together, I share a comfort level with him, an emotional bond. But I’ve always wanted to do a film with Aamir. And one with Shah Rukh Khan. I’ve not done a love story with Shah Rukh. I was in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham with him, but opposite Hrithik.” She being the Queen of Bollywood, did her heroes treat her as being on par, or… ? “Bollywood is male dominated,” she admitted, “but they are a little partial towards me. All of them have worked with my sister. And from way back then, they have treated me like a kid.” Did she, as a kid, have fantasies about any of these male hunks who were her sister’s co-stars, I asked. “All of them,” Kareena replied without batting an eye.
Talking of male hunks, would she do a film with her cousin Ranbir Kapoor, play his lover on screen? The eyebrows shot up, she laughed without embarrassment, “I don’t think so, and it would be my loss, because Ranbir is fantastic, he’s a brilliant actor. It’s so in his blood, he’s natural on screen. But I don’t know. Maybe Ranbir and I should do a film. Act as friends, perhaps brother and sister, but as lovers… maybe if the audience wants to see us that way. He’s hot and good looking, the best in the family, and I like interesting and different roles, I like taking risks, I’m ready to experiment. Jab We Met was different from Omkara. But I’m hopeful some director will write a film for me. I’d like to do a film like Erin Brockovich. Or be like Meryl Streep in.
Devil Wears Prada. I hope, at that age, I too have that fire in me that she has.” That the fire is raging in her at 28, there is no doubt. She’s at the top of her career, she’s getting a film a day, she believes 24 hours is not enough even if she is facing the camera till 2 am, she’s been open and honest about her relationship and still maintained her popularity, films are her life — “I live, eat, breathe, drink films, often Saif and I slip into suburban multiplexes to enjoy films over a carton of popcorn.” Popcorn, I asked. “Yes, I love to eat, I have never been overweight, I’m fit and healthy, always slim. I don’t know what is it about size zero!”

Actress Sonam Kapoor rubbishes tiff rumours with Ranbir-Deepika
Sonam Kapoor has been in the news for quite some time, although for reasons she couldn’t care less for! Her alleged tiff with Deepika and Ranbir and thus her backing out of projects featuring either of them are stories doing the rounds on the front page of dailies! We got in touch with Sonam to know her side of the story and the otherwise excited girl sounded really worried about the entire issue.
Before running for her dance rehearsals Sonam took some time out and told us “I wonder from where these rumours about me disliking Deepika and vice versa come from! She is Ranbir’s girlfriend and since Ranbir and I are friends, I know her like that… beyond that I have never got an opportunity to interact with her much. She is a lovely girl and because of the stories created by the media about our rivalry it might get awkward for us to come closer! Ranbir is a dear friend and we all do meet up occasionally. There is nothing more to this story.”
Since Sonam was in a hurry she couldn’t comment on her rejecting Vicky’s film starring her and Ranbir but a close friend of Sonam revealed, “All these stories are baseless. Sonam has not been offered Shimit Amin’s film as yet which has Ranbir in it! As far as Vicky’s film is concerned, she was offered the film but she didn’t accept it strictly for professional reasons. Her decision was not based on Ranbir’s presence in it. Sonam knows people want to see her more often but all these news about her are just baseless.”

Abhishek Bachchan to performs the title track of ‘Singh Is Kinng’
First he created an impact at the IIFA Awards when he introduced ‘Singh Is Kinng’ to Bangkok on stage. Then Akshay Kumar rocked the the Bachchan’s The Unforgettable show in Toronto when he came on stage in his ’sardar’ get-up to promote his upcoming release on August 7.
We are unofficially informed that the audience in Los Angeles (where Akshay has been shooting for close to a month with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Kareena Kapoor) were so charmed by the Punjabi ‘munda’ that they rumouredly drove even Abhishek Bachchan to perform to the title track of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ during the Unforgettable show on July 26, of which Akshay was not a part.
The audience in LA kept screaming ‘Singh Is Kinng’ as they were missing Akshay, which supposedly drove the latter’s good friend, Abhishek to dance to the title track in good spirit to keep the audience amused.
Akshay attended a press conference of ‘Singh Is Kinng’ on July 25 at Hotel Hilton Universal City, organised by Studio 18 International. He is said to be attending yet another press conference to promote his upcoming release in Vancouver later this week.

Harman Baweja Shopping for his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra birthday in Dubai
Mumbai, (IANS) Harman Baweja, who is on a family holiday in Dubai, intends to go shopping for his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra whose birthday is round the corner.”I don’t know as yet what I’ll get her. But girls like anything you give then in a gift-wrap and with a smile, trust me on that,” Harman told IANS.Harman teamed up with Priyanka, whose birthday is July 18, in his debut film “Love Story 2050″.

Released on July 4, “Love Story 2050″ was panned by critics and audiences too gave it a cold shoulder but Harman is taking the criticism positively.
“In the past two weeks, I’ve learnt so much about life. I think I’m much wiser now.”

Actress Bipasha Basu in awe of Siddharth Anand
Bachna Ae Haseeno starring Ranbir Kapoor, Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu will finally be coming to theaters on August 15th. With the release of the music last week the film’s promotion has revved up and with each new sneak peak the excitement surrounding the film is getting even higher. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film is a story of Raj Sharma’s (Ranbir Kapoor) three loves from the age of 16 to 30. Recently the director talked about all things Bachna Ae Haseeno.
To play the lead male character, there was only one name in Anand’s mind, Ranbir Kapoor and they really hoped he would agree to star in the project. “Saawariya hadn’t released when we offered him this film and he was rejecting offers left, right and centre. But we are glad he chose Bachna Ae Haseeno as his second film. His character in the film ages from 16 to 30 years and I feel Ranbir can portray the entire age group well.”
About the characters played by Ranbir and his 3 costars Anand revealed, “Minissha Lamba plays a simple, sweet, small town girl while Deepika Padukone plays an NRI. Bipasha is your independent, successful, attractive Mumbai girl. The all have distinct looks and characters because Ranbir (who plays Raj Sharma, a gaming programmer at Microsoft) meets them at different stages of his life. In fact this variety is there in the music too.”
Adding that though the impression seems to be that Ranbir’s Raj is a bit of a Casanova that is really not the case. “But I wouldn’t like to call his character a Casanova. He is a regular guy who like all of us in this room goes through series of relationships. And each woman he meets teaches him something about life. Bachna Ae Hasseno is a family film, so I am sorry all of you with naughty thoughts in your minds will be disappointed. At one point there is only one girl in his life.”
Though there is, of course, talk about how the much publicized real life romance of Ranbir and Deepika will influence how the film will be accepted by audiences, Anand disagrees, “Actually they had finished shooting their portions before they started dating. I don’t think audiences care too much about watching real life couples on screen. People are talking more about the film than the cast. Everyone has been going ‘wow’. But it’s a film with a heart and has much more than just froth and gloss.”
Anand said he enjoyed working with all three of his heroines and that there was no problem, “Fortunately there wasn’t too much work that required the three of them together. I was sure since they signed the film there were no doubts regarding their roles. Otherwise it would have been a bit problematic, as women are very sensitive. I feel I am more of a man’s director. I get along very well with all my heroes. With my heroines the relationship is more professional. But they all brought a lot of positive energy with them on the sets. In fact filmmaking these days has become like going to office. You enter and exit at a certain time. There is no space for small talk, ego clashes and arguments. Come, do your work and pack up.”
He did enjoying working with all three of them but there was one lady that took his breath away. Bipasha. “I was completely in awe of her. Everyone else was a pal, but she made me go weak in the knees. But she is used to that. Anyways, because comparisons are bound to be there all three have worked extra hard to look their best.”
Anand’s last film was Tara Ra Rum Pum with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji and when asked to compare Ranbir to Saif Anand replied, “I would have loved to cast Saif in the film. But the age of the character fitted Ranbir better. And trust me you will see a new Ranbir in the film. I’ll say we are re-launching him. It’s like a new debut for him. The range the film offers him is a dream for any actor. Ranbir fortunately is relatively new yet seasoned enough as a performer. And you can’t doubt his acting skills. It’s in his genes. Saif and Ranbir have this quality of being the same both on and off camera. So their body language and dialogues are always natural.”
Though there have been rumors that Ranbir’s dad Rishi will be making a cameo in BAH Anand denied it and said, “But Ranbir is a chip off the old block. Rishi Kapoor is the God of romance and I hope Ranbir lives up to that image.”
With the tag line Come Fall In Love…Thrice fans can expect a wonderful romantic film to enjoy when Bachna Ae Haseeno opens in theaters on August 15th. We know we will be there!

promised to be funnier than ‘Golmaal Returns’
‘Golmaal Returns’ is the sequel of the movie produced in 2006 and is funnier than the earlier one as told by director of the movie Rohit Shetty. In ‘Golmaal Returns’ Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi are in the same cast, however Shreyas Talpade would take over the role as originally played by the Sharman Joshi in Golmaal of 2006.

finally turning into reality for ‘London Dreams’
Do you remember ‘London Dreams’? Director Rajkumar Santoshi had started off with this project way back in 2006, when the first shot of the film, featuring Salman Khan, was canned at Amritsar’s historic Golden Temple. Then the cast comprised Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, with Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra being discussed as the female leads. The project had been put on the backburner for two long years owing to certain misunderstandings between the team members..
Now, the producer of the project P.J Singh has taken a move and has moved on with the script/story of the film to Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The cast too has undergone a change and is now expected to feature Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. Bollywood Abhishek Bachchan Not without my wife
Abhishek Bachchan is no longer the brand ambassador for electronics brand, LG. Official sources say that the actor, who was signed on to represent the company in 2006, has refused to renew his contract. Truth be told, LG dumped him. Sources reveal the reason behind this unceremonious ouster is his demand to include Ash in the contract. A source close to LG reveals the actor laid down a condition that he would continue only if they would work out a dual endorsement deal with Ash.
The source reveals, “Abhishek and Ash are trying hard to be the power couple in Bollywood. They get loads of offers for deals and endorsements. However, most of the deals don’t work out as they have exorbitant prices and want to get joint endorsements. They tried to take the same approach with LG, but it didn’t work out.” It is learnt that LG is now hunting for a new celeb to strike a deal with. Hopefully, someone single! LG’s business head Anil Arora remained unavailable for comment.

Double ‘Mazaa’ from Neha Dhupia
Neha Dhupia has enough reasons to await the coming month of February. The lady has two back to back releases this February.
She will be seen on the big screen with her ‘Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama’ as early as Februrary 1. This film which comes from the makers of ‘Tom, Dick and Harry’, is a comedy with centered on the theme of extra marital affairs. Rajpal Yadav plays Neha Dhupia’s philandering husband in the film. The movie also stars Ashish Chaudhary and Amrita Arora.
Again within a gap of just one week, she will hit the screens as the solo lady in Rajat Kapoor’s ‘Mithya’. With Ranvir Shorey as her co-star, this one is also a comedy though with elements of thrills in it.
Later in the year, Neha Dhupia would also be seen in ‘Maharathi’, ‘Singh is Kinng’and ‘I Am 24’.

My Name is Anthony gonsalves
E. Niwas on-release film ‘My Name is Anthony Gonzalves’ has been banned in Bihar. The reason being an ongoing tussle between the actor, Mithun Chakraborty, and a local producer -distributor, due to which Mithun da’s films are banned in Bihar. Mithun plays a priest in the film.
The dirft dates back to the time when Dada’s Bengali film entitled ‘Coolie’ was dubbed into Bhojpuri without the actor’s consent and by using someone else’s voice in dubbed Bhojpuri film. The incensed actor retaliated by refusing to return money paid as signing amount for another proposed film to be made by the same Bihari producer-distributor.
Niwas is obviously disturbed and says, “I had no clue about Mithun-da’s ban in Bihar. It seems so strange to be kept out of the state where my first film Shool was set. I really wouldn’t want Anthony Gonzalves to be be kept out of Bihar. But I don’t know how I can help the situation.”
