Vadivel’s comedy riot movie Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan (INA ) to release nearly 200 prints all over TN.

Looks like NSC, Salem, TK and Madurai areas distributors are craze about comedy king Vadivel INA.

Vadivel’s Indiralokathil Na Azhagappan(INA) is releasing in 7 theaters including Sathyam and Inox in Chennai city.

Goundamani features in Sathyaraj’s film ‘Thangam‘ after a long gap which releases on the same day of INA. Goundamani hopes to create waves with his comedy role.

Malayalam Actress Shamna changes name to Poorna

It has become a common thing now for the heroines of the movie to change the names. Kuthu Ramya changed her name to Divya, Child artiste Kalyani changed her name to Poornitha, the heroine of captain Vijaykanth’s Arasangam movie, Sheril Pinto has changed her name to Sunaina and the list goes on.

The latest to join this list is Malayalam actress Shamna, who is acting in movie Kodaikanal with the name of Shamna and movie Muniyandi Vilangiyal Mundram Aandu as Tamarai. She has finally decided to keep a single name and has changed her name to Poorna now. She was recently in news when the director and producer of ‘Kodaikanal’ filed a complaint against her in the Producers Association due to call sheet problems for the movie.

‘Kodaikanal’ movie is produced by Sri Swarnalakshmi Movies and directed by Bose. The director who has earlier directed the films like Rasavey Unnai Nambi with Ramarajan and he is introducing Tilak in this film as hero with Shamna alais Poorna as the heroine. Shamna has earlier acted in Malayalam films with Mamooti and Mohan Lal. Malaysia Kandiban is introduced in this film as the villain.

The story-line of the film is that of a murder, the story revolves around love, sentiment, action and thrill. Deva is the music director of the film while Ravinder is handling the cinematography.

Dr A P J Abdul Kalam A Little Dream

Noted director K Balachander released a documentary on the Former President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam titled - A Little Dream, at Narada Gana Sabha. The documentary has been directed and scripted by P Dhanapal and produced by Minveli Media Works.

This 60-minute CD documentary film, capturing the journey of former President A P J Abdul Kalam’s life from Rameswaram to Rastrapathi Bhavan has actor Shobana playing the lead role in the film for which Dr Kalam has given an exclusive interview.

The documentary ends with a visual presentation of a poem “A song of Youth”, written by the former president. During the event director Dhanapal said that the Tamil version of the film would be released in a month’s time. “Importance of Education”, is the theme of the film, which contains sound and video bytes of important people associated with Dr Kalam.

Pyramid Saimira Theatre to raise $ 775 m

Pyramid Saimira Theatre announced here on Thursday that it proposed to raise $775 million by April-May this year through three of its subsidiaries and the parent company for acquisitions and expansion. “By June, we would have invested $1 billion,” said P. S. Saminathan, Managing Director of the group, at a press conference.

The company acquired a major stake in London-based Aurona Technologies Ltd, a video-gaming and interactive entertainment software company, along with its top management, while three other acquisitions were in the pipeline. Mr. Saminathan said the company was scouting for a place either in Chennai or Hyderabad or Bangalore for setting up a special economic zone (SEZ).

Targeting the younger customer-base, the company was planning to convert at least 1,000-1,500 sq. ft. of space in every theatre in its chain into console gaming space.

Mr. Saminathan said the company was planning to produce 60-70 movies with an investment of Rs. 800 crore this year out of which Rs. 200 crore would be spent on gaming and animation.

The group turnover was expected to be Rs. 800-900 crore by the end of the current fiscal. Source: Hindu

Indiralogathil na Azhagappan release on Feb 1st

The advertisements of Indiralogathil na Azhagappan conveyed the news that the movie was a Pongal release but the distributors changed their minds at the last minute and decided to make the movie a solo release.

The release date has been now changed to Feb 1st. All the work for the movie is finished and will be with the censor board this week and will be given the certificate this week. Since it is a post pongal release the distributors are positive that they will earn back the money that they have spent on the movie. Going by the sucess of Vadivelu’s first movie as hero Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi, this movie also has the ingredients of a super hit.

Indiralokathil Na Azhagappan is another fantasy comedy where Vadivelu is all set on success lane. Indiralogathil Na Azhagappan has comedian Vadivelu portraying three roles in the movie and a Item song by Shirya Saran. The music of the movie is by Sabesh Murali. Vadivelu plays the characters of Indra, Yama and a common man Azhagappan.

Actor Vikram Three movies every year

Vikram is finally a relieved man now. His Bheema has finally seen the lights after a gap of three years. Talking about this the actor says that he did Bheema for its unique climax.

After Majaa, Vikram did not do anyother movie because of his commitment to Bheema. The price he paid was almost 12 crore, the actor says. He had a one and half crore personal loss and upto 10 crore loss for not accepting anyother movies during this time. The film Bheema has been sold for 23 crores and is expected to fetch a distributors share of 1 crore in Tirunelveli-Tanjore belt, which normally happens only for blockbusters.

The actor is open to all kinds of roles and is willing to experiment his roles, but wants to work only with experianced directors. Kanthasamy will be a childrens oriented movie and will be a treat to them. Cheeyan Vikram will next do a movie with Selvaraghavan.

Kanthasamy shooting in Kenya

Kathaswamy crew which is shooting for the past 35 days for the movie was all set to fly to Kenya for the shooting there. They have postponed the shooting in Kenya now due to the ongoing political turmoil in Kenya.

Kandasamy stars Vikram and Sherya in the lead role and is being directed by Susi Ganesan. Raghuvaran, Vivek, Santhanam,
Vinod Raj, Y G Mahendran, Arun Mathavan, Vinayak, Alex will also be seen in supporting roles in the movie. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, this film has music by Devisri Prasad.

The manager of the unit is currently in Kenya updating the team on the ongoing developments. The crew will continue its shooting in Chennai and will fly to Kenya only when the violence in Kenya comes to a halt.

Kandasamy has probably had the most flashy pre-shooting publicity drive in recent Kollywood history. The costumes for the stars and the support artists of the trailer itself were procured from Bangkok, Malaysia and Italy. Vikram’s father Vinothraj is to play an important role in the film Kandaswamy.

Shooting spot change for Shruthi

After Pirivom Santhipom, Gnanam Films is producing the yet to be titled film with Madhavan and Shruti Kamal Hassan in the lead. The buzz is that Shruthi Hassan will debut as a heroine in this movie. The photo session with both Shruthi and Madhavan will take place in chennai.

Arjun out of Vishnu`s Sarvam

After the success of Billa director Vishnuvardhan has decided to revive his long-shelved project Sarvam and he was supposed to have Arya and Arjun the lead roles along with him. Arjun who is acting a lead hero in Durai movie has decided to opt out of Sarvam, since his role in Sarvam is that of a Negative character.

Arya will be acting in Sarvam after his movie Naan Kadavul with Bala. The film will be produced by Ayngaran International.Sarvam has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and will be mostly shot in Munnar. The movie will start rolling in March.
