Bipasha Basu had left shooting of Rahul Dholakia’s ‘Lamhaa ’ in the Kashmir valley in mid way and had returned back to Mumbai owing to security reasons, but now Basu is back in Kashmir for the shoot after the producer and director assured her of proper security arrangements.
Sanjay Dutt in fact proceeded to Kashmir a day ahead of her to make sure the atmosphere is conducive to her safety. The producer Bunty Walia has met the Deputy General of Police in Kashmir who has appointed a senior-rank officer to take charge and provide all the required security force to cordon off the areas where the film will be shot.
Speaking candidly for the first time on why she left Kashmir suddenly during their schedule in November, Bipasha says, “Too much was made out of the whole thing. Lamhaa is a difficult film. There was bound to be ups and downs. The producer and director knew why I left. A certain amount of security was promised. The first seven days were absolute chaos. There was disorganization and lack of security. Beyond that I really don’t care what people say.”
Bipasha is very clear on her security issues. “Yes, my work is my life. But then I’ve a life beyond work. I’m not going to risk my life unnecessarily for any film. Who comes to hold your hand when you’re in pain? Let’s be optimistic. This time hopefully we’ll shoot without any trouble. Let’s be sensible about it. Lamhaa is a sensible film.”
So, now we have Bipasha, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kapoor shooting in the Dal Lake of Kashmir in freezing January. Bipasha also got the leave from the producer for one night on Wednesday to dance for an awards function then return the next morning.
Said the actress, “Yes I came back for the awards on Wednesday night for just one evening. I reached just in time to get into my costume and rush to the stage. It went really well.”

Aishwarya Rai was bitten by a leech on the first day of shoot there
Shooting in the thick jungles of Kerala may sound cool, but Ash-and-Abhi we’re sure won’t mind treading places with anyone who wishes to be in their shoes. The couple was shooting for Mani Ratnam’s next, tentatively titled Ravana in Kerala. And never mind the adventure part of it all, shooting in the thick forests was proving to be pretty dangerous.
A unitwala informs us that Aishwarya Rai was bitten by a leech on the first day of shoot there. "The jungle is full of leeches, snakes and other wild animals that director Mani Ratnam had had to hire local snake catchers to deal with such problems," we are told. But our Tarzan and Jane Bachchan aren’t complaining at all, and are taking every blood sucker in their stride.

Asin has now moved to Mumbai divas in Bollywood

Having stormed Telugu and Tamil cinema Asin has now moved to Mumbai conquer the Hindi belt. And if the growing buzz is to be believed, after Hema Malini, Rekha and Sridevi, Asin Thottumkal is poised to be the next Bollywood diva from the South.
Tell her this, and Asin laughs in delight and embarrassment. "I admire the names you've mentioned. I'm a long way from getting anywhere near them. I thought I was fairly unknown in Mumbai. I guess I'm lucky. But yes I feel hugely welcome in Mumbai. I don't know why filmmakers are showing so much interest in me. I guess they must've seen my work in Tamil and Telugu.
Spirited spunky and beautiful Asin (pronounced Ah-sin) has a better sense of humour than most of the screen divas in Bollywood.
"Thanks for pronouncing my name correctly. Most people tend to give it an Islamic spin. 'Asin' is coined from Sanskrit and English. It means 'sinless' like 'Amala'….without blemish. I hope I live up to my name in Mumbai."
For now Mumbai is home. "I'm in Mumbai now. I thought that was the practical thing to do. But only because my immediate commitments are in Mumbai. I'm the brand ambassador for six multi-national companies and the ads need to be shot in Mumbai. Now there're the Hindi films."
Luckily Asin speaks Hindi without an accent. "I can manage it quite well. And I don't have a thick South Indian accent. In these days of globalization I don't think language is a barrier. And I'm only looking for good roles regardless of the language. I'm interested in films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and any other language as long as the projects are exciting. I look at the script, then the role, director, banner and finally my co- star."
Since she has moved to Mumbai there're rumours in the South that she's giving up on South Indian cinema. "That's completely untrue. Whatever I'm today is because of Tamil and Telegu cinema. Why am I expected to choose between Mumbai and the South?"
Asin is equally popular in Tamil and Telugu cinema. "I speak both languages fluently and do all my dubbing myself. I've never used a dubbing artiste for any of my films, not even for the Hindi ads that I've done. And I'm speaking in my own voice in my first Hindi film Ghajini. It's in sync-sound, so there was no choice."
With such a hectic 3-language cinematic career when and where does Asin get the chance to be normal? She laughs musically, "I guess I'm pretty normal and grounded. Because of the so-called stardom down South people expect me to behave in a particular way. And they're disappointed when I don't."

Lara Dutta is quite the water baby!

It seems like our Bollywood stunner, Lara Dutta had quite an awesome time while shooting for her upcoming film BLUE in the Bahamas.
It looks like Lara is quite the water baby! as for the film, she swam with sharks and rode on a dolphin’s back and even though this might make you think she’s playing the role of a mermaid, that isn’t the case. If you think that is exciting, Lara even managed to balance herself on the noses of two dolphins!!!
Must say that’s quite impressive for someone who until recently didn’t even know how to swim!
Way to go Lara, and we are sure your fans can’t wait to see you setting the silver screen ablaze once again.

Hot - Sexy Esha Deol gets well groomed

Esha Deol was in Delhi recently to promote her movie Hijack and was looking terrific. She admitted that she has improved her grooming.
She said,” “I went through absolutely no grooming before I decided to take up films. All I knew was how to act and dance and I still feel that I do a good job of it. But when it came to grooming, I was horrible. It was only after I signed Dhoom that I started taking fitness seriously.
My character in the film demanded me to have an enviable figure and I managed to attain it under proper supervision.”
Esha Deol added that she is careful about her looks for every movie now. ““Every time I think I’m slipping up on my fitness routine, I look at myself from the audience’s perspective. And that’s also why I am not signing too many movies.
After Hijack , I am doing a movie opposite Rahul Bose. As long as I get a role that gives me an opportunity to perform, I am game for it. I don’t regret any of the decisions that I took. Till there is nothing bad, how would we know about the good,” asks Esha. Point taken.

Hot Bipasha Basu Blasts Boys-world Bollywood

It’s no secret that Bollywood is, and has always been a male-dominated industry. The men get paid more, and enjoy much longer, illustrious careers, while their female equivalent see their fee and film offers reduce greatly once they hit 30.
Bipasha Basu, possibly the most forthright and outspoken actress in Bollywood (bar perhaps Kareena Kapoor) has seconded this viewpoint in a recent interview.
She explains that being an actress, she has to plan her career and personal life carefully and meticulously in an attempt to overcome these barriers.“It’s a man’s industry and it’s never going to change. There is no use pointing out our stand verbally or through action”, Bipasha said.
One of the big factors determining an actress’ success is their love life. Once an actress is in a relationship, their options get reduced significantly. “Your personal life has an indirect impact on the offers that come your way. Once you are bonded into any relationship, the choice is limited and one has to make the right moves,” she added (perhaps explaining the reason why she and long-time beau John are yet to tie the knot).
The obvious inequality still may come as a surprise to many - myself included. While actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Anil Kapoor have been happily married throughout their careers, for women it’s practically career suicide; it’s almost blasphemy in Bollywood for an actress to marry at the height of her profession. The only actress I can recall that performed such a rebellious act was Kajol, and now she is restricted to movies directed by hubby Ajay.Madhuri Dixit famously held-off marriage until she was near the end of her career, while Ash settled into her thirties before she married Abhishek, the son of the legendry Amitabh Bachchan.
Another obvious inequality is the pairings in Bollywood. While actors get older, their heroines get younger. To date, Akshay Kumar, now in his forties, has been paired alongside (in vague chronological order) Madhuri Dixit, Ayesha Jhulka, Shilpa Shetty, Karishma Kapoor (later binned in favour of younger sister Kareena), Priyanka Chopra - and his most recent partner in crime, Katrina Kaif.
Since they’re churning out box office gold, nobody seems to bat an eyelid at the fact that there is at least fifteen years between Katrina and Akshay. But that’s nothing compared to Anil Kapoor (48) and Sameera Reddy (25); while daughter Sonam Kapoor makes her movie debut, Anil is acting opposite a woman of the same generation as her. Then there’s Shah Rukh and Deepika, Govinda and Katrina… the list goes on and on.
The real question is, as women are snapping at actors’ heels by increasing film fees - seemingly narrowing the pay gap - will they be free to marry, and more importantly, free to age like their male counterparts? In essence, will their ever be equality in Bollywood? Share your thoughts…

Hot Amrita Arora is back in Mumbai

Amrita Arora is back in Mumbai after a long spell in Los Angeles where she was shooting for Kambakth Ishq with Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar. And of course, her split with cricketer boyfriend Usman Afzaal came as no surprise to her naysayers who think she’s a serial dater anyway. And not one to waste anytime, Amrita has got herself a brand new boyfriend, businessman Shakeel Ladak who is five years her junior.
The man supposedly even met with her in Los Angeles when she was missing him. Well, if Tom Cruise can take the red eye from LA to New York just to walk wife Katie Holmes to work (which is a Broadway play called All My Sons), then Shakeel flying the long haul flight to meet Amrita seems passable too. Even though the pretty girl’s career is not happening, her love life certainly is.

Actress Katrina Kaif cutting off Salman Khan

The last straw was probably his behavior at her birthday party recently when Salman Khan initiated a fight between him and guest Shah Rukh Khan that nearly came to blows.
The sources said that after the incident Salman and Katrina are not on talking terms.
“Katrina is blaming Salman for the entire episode,” said a common friend. Katrina was of the opinion that Salman should have restrained himself as he was playing the host. “But certain things are not in anyone’s control and it is destined to happen,” Katrina said in an interview.
A close friend of Salman said: “He is good at heart. He took initiative for the party to please Katrina. But everything went wrong.” Industry insiders have been talking about the cooling off of this relationship for some months now. The on-off affair has already toned down to a mere friendship, according to their close friends.
Salman has ruined his future with Katrina by his drinking habits and also his hang-up for ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. Katrina is concentrating on her professional life, which is going great guns. She has also stopped taking Salman’s advice in her career and that has soured relationship between the two.The SRK- Salman spat at the birthday party must have hit the nail in the coffin.

The two beauties India’s Aishwarya Rai and Hollywood’s Angelina Jolie

The media abroad often compares the two beauties India’s Aishwarya Rai and Hollywood’s Angelina Jolie. Aishwarya Rai is often considered the world’s most beautiful woman on par with Jolie.
The two have many marked similarities too… light eyes, fair complexion, luscious lips, amazing international fan following and of course the ’sex appeal’. Jolie has been voted time and again as one of the Sexiest and most desirable women in the world. On the contrary, for some odd reason, Aishwarya Rai lacks that kind of cult fan-following here in India.
What do you think? Is the comparison between Ash and Angie justified? Or is it that one completely outshines the other? Who is prettier?

Feeling Touchy For Actress Tanushree Dutta

Desirable Tanushree Dutta recently fell out with Nana Patekar on the set of the comedy Horn OK Pleeaasssse! claiming indecent behaviour on his part. It’s even rumoured she filed a police complaint. “Nana Patekar’s like my grandfather’s age,” she said. “Has he had a hard look at himself before even trying to act fresh with me?” She went on to add, “Nana Patekar would try to teach me how to dance…And I was like, ‘buffoon, you’re 60 years old and one leg in the grave, do you even know how to dance?
”Nana Patekar has also recently been criticised for his support of sectarian politician Raj Thackeray and his anti-migration policies.
Meanwhile, the outspoken Tanushree appears to have teamed up with Koena Mitra, who appeared in the best forgotten Cash – what they have in common is a love of dogs. Tanushree has a new shitzu, whilst Koena has five dogs of her own. They take them to be regularly groomed and buy them appropriate accessories.
