Sexy Actress Priyanka Chopra in shorts,formal jackets and bikini tops
Karan Johar’s films have always been stylish, thanks to the ace designers he ropes in.
And Dostana is no different. In fact, truth be told, the producer has outdone himself. The cast comprising of Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan never looked so eye-poppingly good as they did in the promos doing the rounds.
And it is all thanks to designers Akki Narula and Manish Malhotra.
Read on as they tell Nithya Ramani how they worked their magic. Excerpts:
Priyanka’s sexy look

As the movie is based in Miami, a place full sun, surf and sand, we decided to go with the holiday look. Priyanka’s character is a fashion editor, hence her clothes need to be stylish and chic.
When it comes to colours, Priyanka always prefers grey, black and white. But for Dostana, we decided to experiment with bright solid colours like the ones in the citrus family.
Keeping her chic look in mind, we decided to tone down the accessories. You will notice that none of her dresses have any embroidery or designs either. All her outfits are mainly in satin, chiffon and georgette.
Throughout the film you will find Priyanka in shorts,formal jackets and bikini tops. I personally like people wearing casual blue jeans with a formal jacket. So I gave her a pair of satin golden shorts with formal jacket to go with it. She wears them to work. The best outfit of Priyanka would have to be her tan denim dress.
Talking specifically about her swimsuit, I knew I wanted metallic colours either in silver or golden. I picked up the swimsuits from Miami.
As the Desi Girl song is a formal occasion, I decided to go with a sari. I gave it a western touch by making her wear a long silver sequined skirt. The bikini-type blouse too gave the look a western touch. Here too she is not wearing accessories.
In the Maa Da Ladla song, I have designed Abhishek and John’s outfits too. Karan had seen my Couture Fashion Week collections which consisted of sherwanis. So I gave the boys golden lined sherwanis. They are very funky though traditional.

Kabeer Kaushik is missing from ‘Chamku’
One may be wondering why the director Kabeer Kaushik is missing from all the promotional events of Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Chamku’. The reason is that the director is stuck up in London, keeping up with the disrupted shooting schedules of actor turned producer Arshad Warsi’s maiden home production.
Unfortunately, the schedule for Warsi’s film has been hit due to the appalling weather conditions in London. Since Warsi has already lost so many days and a big amount of money too due to bad weather, he obviously does not approve of his director going off to Mumbai for a few days.
On top of that Kaushik has a single entry visa implying that once he flies out of London, he will have to apply for a new visa. Keeping the tight schedule of his film in mind, Warsi is keeping his director on a short lease.
To be known here, that Arshad had been the first choice as the host of ‘Big Boss 2’, but he turned down the offer because it would have entailed flying to and fro between London and Mumbai every week and Warsi cannot afford to do that right now. So now we know that Arshad’s loss has been Shilpa’s gain.

‘Kaminey’ not a good shooting experience for Shahid
Shahid Kapoor did not have a very pleasant time while shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Kaminey’ at Pune. First, it was his female fan following which created mobbing and gate-crashing for autographs making it difficult for Shahid to get to the sets from Taj where he was staying.
The second mishap took place on Thursday when Shahid fell off a bike with his co-star Priyanka Chopra. The accident took place while the duo were shooting for a scene that required Priyanka to ride a bike with Shahid on the back seat.
The two were riding the bike on a slope that was slightly muddy when the two-wheeler skidded and the two fell off. And to make matter worse, the bike fell on top of them. Now both the stars sport quite a few bruises on their body.
“By god’s grace, I am fine and so is Shahid, except for a few cuts and bruises. I think the only thing that is seriously damaged is my ego, otherwise I am alive and kicking, ” Priyanka was quoted as saying in a press statement.

Abhishek Bachchan Starrer ‘Drona’ to be unveiled today
The first teaser of Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘Drona’ has already created a lot of stirs. Now, Eros International is all set to unveil yet another magnificent promo of the film this Independence Day which will be shown across theatres along with ‘God Tussi Great Ho’. This teaser will unveil the look of Kay Kay Menon who plays the antagonist Riz Raizada and Priyanka Chopra who plays Sonia.
Drona, produced by Shrishti Arya (Rose Films) and Sunil Lulla (Eros International) is a fantasy adventure with loads of special effects. Directed by Goldie Behl, the film is set to release on Oct 2.

Priyanka and John are reel couple
The shooting of Karan Johar's next production Dostana directed by Tarun Mansukhani and starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan is now complete, save for a song.
Tarun's baby Karan says, "Dostana is Tarun's baby. He and the entire crew handled everything so superbly that I was worried. As a producer I was there in Miami for the first schedule for only two weeks. I was an unemployed producer.
Dostana was the title of my dad's (Yash Johar) first film and besides a sense of nostalgia meets emotion, my film and the 1980 Dostana have nothing in common. My Dostana is a love story with a fun twist." The film ended on schedule and now only an item number needs to be picturized on John, Priyanka and Abhishek which we will shoot in September when Abhishek comes back from his world tour.
Do ka dhamaalDirector Tarun says, "Dostana is about three friends. It's a cool, fun film which has emotional ups and downs. The trio play pranks and have fun together like all friends do.
It was great fun working with all of them. I thought Abhishek, Priyanka and John would give me attitude being big stars; but they behaved like newcomers and said okay for everything. We finished shooting within 75 days. It's a romantic comedy. Abhishek and John have an amazing chemistry and they come across more as a couple than anybody else."

The Surprise Party For Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra does not believe in the size or price of gift and Harman knew it well. So, when Priyanka was in a mood to spend her 26th birthday as just any other day sleeping and relaxing for a change, Harman had some surprise in store for her.
He reportedly planned to bring together a number of Priyanka’s friends with whom the actress has been out of touch lately. Without telling Priyanka, he requested her best friend Tamanna in Delhi to fly to Mumbai for the surprise party he wanted to throw for Priyanka at China House. Harman also got in touch with other friends and close cousins of Priyanka inviting them all to the party.
Not to mention Priyanka was thrilled by the pain Harman took to make the day special for her. Priyanka also got a special gift from her dad – a BMW 7 series car. Hope Priyanka’s smile which has won millions of hearts never leaves those luscious lips!

Harman Baweja Shopping for his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra birthday in Dubai
Mumbai, (IANS) Harman Baweja, who is on a family holiday in Dubai, intends to go shopping for his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra whose birthday is round the corner.”I don’t know as yet what I’ll get her. But girls like anything you give then in a gift-wrap and with a smile, trust me on that,” Harman told IANS.Harman teamed up with Priyanka, whose birthday is July 18, in his debut film “Love Story 2050″.
Talking about the family holiday, Harman said: “Just the four of us - dad, mom, my sister Rowena and me. We took off for a five-day trip to Dubai. We all needed the break.
“The last two years and particularly the last few weeks have been very stressful for all of us. So here we are, just chilling and shopping. Actually the ladies are doing all the shopping. I’m just their bag boy.”
Released on July 4, “Love Story 2050″ was panned by critics and audiences too gave it a cold shoulder but Harman is taking the criticism positively.
“In the past two weeks, I’ve learnt so much about life. I think I’m much wiser now.”

Love Story 2050. “We’re planning a world premiere in London
Rather than take on Aamir Khan and his nephew Imran's no-holds-barred launch pad Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na headlong, the Bawejas have decided to do away with their Mumbai premiere for the magnum opus, Love Story 2050.
Although producer-director Harry Baweja says a Mumbai premiere was never planned, a source close to the film says, “The sudden decision for the people behind Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na to have a premiere came as a bolt from the blue to the Bawejas.
They didn’t want to embarrass or inconvenience their guests by forcing them to make a choice between the two films or rushing between the two venues.
They thought that it was better to move away completely.”
Harry Baweja confirms there would be no Mumbai premiere for Love Story 2050. “We’re planning a world premiere in London and perhaps in Dubai. In Mumbai we’re spending Rs 25 lakh per day on television publicity alone. Harman better deliver,” Harry laughs and says.
He adds, “The film needs no further promotion in Mumbai or in the other metros. I’m in two minds about Dubai. But yes, a London premiere is confirmed. What do we have a Mumbai premiere for? To invite our friends to watch the film? We can do that without a premiere.
I’ve seen films with the most lavish premieres in Mumbai bombing on Friday. On the other hand, Guru had a premiere in Toronto and Om Shanti Om in London. Did audiences in Mumbai reject these films because there was no Mumbai premiere?”
He goes on to explain further. “This is a strange industry. There're no permanent friendships or enmities here. A director who was slapped by hero is now working with him again. I actually wanted a premiere in Toronto, Dubai and London.
London is a huge market and an opening for the entire overseas sector. Premieres in Mumbai I feel are publicity stunts that can easily backfire. So, no thanks,” says Harry.

Sexy photo shoot Shahid and Priyanka are ready to star together
After a recent sexy photo shoot Shahid and Priyanka are ready to star together in Vishal Bharadwaaj’s happier version of Shakespear tragedy Romeo Juliet.
Bharadwaj las two movies Maqbool and Omkara were inspired from Shakespear’s Macbeth and Hamlet and he makes it clear that his next flick will not be a transformed version of Romeo and Juliet.
“People would love to see me complete my Shakespearean trilogy after Macbeth (Maqbool) and Hamlet (Omkara). But I’m not doing Romeo & Juliet,” quoted Vishal.
Shahid has already signed on the dotted line, meanwhile the presence of Priyanka is yet to be confirmed, as the former Miss World is busy shooting Dostana in Miami.
But Vishal is adamant to sign Priyanka opposite Shahid that he has flew to Miami just to read the story out to Priyanka.
If you guys remember Kareena Kapoor hates Priyanka Chopra to the core and Shahid’s attempts in the past to reconcile the two actresses have always gone in vain.

Priyanka Chopra Harman Baweja's long-awaited debut film Love Story 2050
It's firmed in now. Harman Baweja's long-awaited debut film Love Story 2050 will be released on July 4.
The shooting is almost done. The last two days when Harman's snazzy introduction was shot has just been completed.
Says the film's producer Harry Baweja, "We've all worked very hard on this film. The shooting is complete. Now begins the real struggle.The FX are comparable with anything from Hollywood, as we could see from the theatrical trailers that were released with Race."
But before the Big Release of the film on July 4 there's another red-letter day waiting for the big film.
It's the music release of Love Story 2050. The date chosen for the event is May 10.
Though Priyanka will be shooting in Miami for Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana she has already set that date aside for Mumbai. Taking time off from the tight schedule in Miami Priyanka will pay a flying visit to Mumbai to be there for Harman's big day.
Seldom, if ever, has a co-star gone so much out of her way for any project.
Earlier this month Priyanka joined the crew in Miami a day late because she wanted to be in Mumbai when the theatrical trailer of Love Story 2050 was released.
Now she not only returns for the music release in May Priyanka has also set aside a major chunk of dates for the film's promotion in June.
The Bawejas have quietly acknowledged Priyanka's huge hand in seeing Harman's launch acquire epic proportions.
A whole elaborate song sequence in the air with Priyanka flying on a jet singing and dancing across Mumbai's shimmering skyline has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.
"This," says an inside source, "was the least the Bawejas could do for Priyanka after all she has done for them. Harman has a couple of super-elaborate songs and dances. They felt the need for Priyanka to also make her presence felt."
Says Harry Baweja, "The song we've done with Priyanka has her flying on top of futuristic Mumbai. It's something never seen before."
Tell Priyanka she's been looked on Harman's projects guardian angel and she shrugs, "What's the big deal? Love Story 2050 is as much my film as Harman's. I'd have done just as much for any of my films. About returning for the music release, it is being worked out with Karan Johar."
The schedule in Miami goes on till May 20. But Priyanka hopes to wrap up her work in time for the music release on May 10. Otherwise the music release will be pushed ahead.

Priyanka Chopra says 'That was never a part of the script
Denying rumours that she forced Madhur Bhandarkar to change the climax in Fashion, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been shooting nights for the movie, says her character getting pregnant was not a part of the script.
Priyanka Chopra says 'That was never a part of the script. The ending was decided at the scripting stage. The girl was never meant to get pregnant.
'Why would I shy away from doing something unconventional? I started with Aitraaz, which was as unconventional as they come. I'm so amused by all the speculation about Fashion. It just shows how much interest the film is generating. In spite of the constant attention, we've shot a majority of the film. We're all working really hard on it.'
'I don't know where these stories come from. Apparently, I asked Madhur to change the climax of the plot so that my character doesn't get pregnant. Now where did that come from? Madhur is a very competent director. Do you think he'd allow any actor to tamper with the script?
'Yes, the two of us sat down on the script and threshed it out over six-seven months. Once that was done, we went by the script completely. I'd be the last person to ask for changes once I begin shooting.'
As for the film being inspired by the lives of real-life ramp-walkers, Priyanka clears the air.
'The film is a work of fiction. It's not meant to be the true story about the modelling world. Basically, it's the story of this one girl's biographical journey, just like Tabu in Madhur's Chandni Bar or Bipasha in Corporate.
'The fashion world is my character's backdrop. My character could very well have been a part of any other profession.'
Priyanka, who will be seen in Drona and Love Story 2050, admits that she has never been more nervous about any of her films.
'It's a very nerve-wracking character and I hope I'm able to live up to people's expectations.'
Priyanka has to cram in as much of the shooting as possible for Fashion before she rushes off in March to Miami for Karan Johar's 'Dostana' directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
'That would be a welcome sunny seaside change after shooting the intense scenes indoors on a set for Fashion. It's a young peppy frothy film. Totally different from Fashion.'

I always work on my character: Priyanka Chopra
She has not lost weight to play a ramp model in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion. But, yes, the gorgeous actress has worked on herself to use her sexy body to advantage in that film and also Karan Johar’s next. “I always work on my character. That’s why I do one film at a time,” she said. “For Fashion, I didn’t drop kilos, but I toned my body through diet. I can’t cut down on food.” Karan, it is said, is ready to capture the superfit Priyanka on the beaches of Miami with the likes of Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in his film. “Imagine two months in the sun and sand,” said Priyanka in a dreamy voice. “But, I don’t get into a bikini for Karan.” Getting into shape, Priyanka revealed, isn’t about becoming thin. “It’s about toning your body. I do not endorse anorexic figures. I don’t think you need to be reed-thin to be beautiful. Indian women look terrible when they try to get anorexic. We are naturally healthy. And by that I don’t mean voluptuous! But yes, we’ve been given a certain kind of figure. We’re well-proportioned and aesthetically endowed in all the right places. And by getting exceptionally thin we’re going against Nature.”

Priyanka Chopra’s diet regime
Being a proud owner of a perfect figure, Priyanka Chopra definitely did not like those extra pounds on her boyfriend Harman Baweja. So, during the shoot of ‘Victory’ in Jaisalmer where Harman was instructed to keep himself away from butter chicken, reshmi kababs, tikkas and all that by Priyanka Chopra.
Baweja Jr. was put on a strict diet of salads and bland food during the shoot which bored him. Poor Harman cribbed about salads being bland but, Priyanka and Harman both resisted the tempting Malaysian cuisine.
However, the couple treated themselves with all the Australian delicacies when they when they went partying in Sydney, on New Year’s Eve.
